As soon as possible, please contact your previous dental office and request ALL CURRENT DENTAL RADIOGRAPHS be transferred to our office.  We want this transition to be as smooth as possible for you, so please call if you need assistance.  Patients are encouraged to start this process several weeks before the initial visit to allow sufficient time for duplication and shipping.  All necessary radiographs will be taken during your initial visit, unless we have received current radiographs of diagnostic quality from your previous dental office.

Getting to know you personally and assessing your dental needs is our main objective during your initial visit to our office.  Please help us give you the time and attention you deserve by completing the patient registration, medical history and privacy notice forms BEFORE you arrive.

The initial visit is a 90-minute appointment for adults (over 18) and a 60-minute appointment for children (under 18).  After getting to know you and your medical and dental history, one of our friendly Registered Dental Hygienists will take the necessary dental radiographs, take you on a guided tour of your mouth with an intra-oral camera, and perform a periodontal examination to determine the health of your gum tissue.   Dr. Klein will then perform a comprehensive dental examination, oral cancer screening, and TMJ examination.  Utilizing all this diagnostic information, Dr. Klein and your Dental Hygienist will formulate and discuss with you a plan for your dental care.

Many patients request, and some may receive, a “cleaning” during their initial visit.  Because it is impossible for our office to know your specific dental needs, and the time required to properly address them, we cannot guarantee you will “get a cleaning” during your initial visit.  We are honored that you have entrusted us with your dental health and we take that very seriously.   Please allow us to schedule sufficient time to give you the care you deserve.
